Family Transition Plan
Timely Solutions In Uncertain Times
As 2012 begins, the economy is improving. Yet there are still many uncertainties that people face. The decision to divorce may eliminate some stresses, but many times the process itself can increase the pressure. At LADY4JUSTICE®, we have analyzed this challenge to find solutions to the strain that divorce itself can place on a family. The result of that effort is The Family Transition Plan™.
The Family Transition Plan™ (FTP) is an exclusive, two-tiered program that greatly reduces the emotional stress and uncertainty inherent in the divorce process. It also eliminates financial uncertainty by offering a flat fee with no hourly billing. (That means no legal bill in the mail at the end of the month!) In the first tier of this program, mediation services help couples resolve all outstanding issues before the divorce is even filed. In the second tier, an attorney representing the Plaintiff (the party who files) handles the preparation, service, and filing of most court documents needed for the divorce*. The attorney makes a one-time court appearance to help put the Judgment "on the record" before the court, and eliminate the stress of going to court alone. The attorney is there only to help put the proofs on the record before the court, not resolve disagreements that may arise after the Judgment has been signed. So far, the response to The Family Transition Plan™ has been overwhelmingly positive. People tell us "It's a godsend!"
Lady 4 Justice also offers traditional mediation services on an hourly basis. Contact us to find out more about the difference you enjoy with a holistic approach to mediation in Michigan; a difference that greatly benefits you.
* Please note: The FTP does not include the preparation and filing of any Qualified Domestic Relations Orders which may be needed to disburse pensions and 401Ks. We will put you in touch with a qualified professional who prepares these documents for a flat fee.
Mediation
In times like these, the stress and expense of a protracted court fight are more than most people can bear. Luckily, they don't have to. Mindy L. Hitchcock is a skilled mediator trained in civil mediation by the Oakland Mediation Center in Pontiac, Michigan. A member of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan and a past president of the International Alliance of Holistic Lawyers, Mindy understands the importance of resolving disputes respectfully. As an attorney whose undergraduate major was communication, she is skilled at facilitating communication between people.
By helping couples focus on what's really important to them, Mindy helps resolve custody, support, and property disputes in a way that benefits both parties while saving them the financial and emotional cost of going to court. This is the major benefit of divorce mediation. By choosing to resolve a divorce through mediation in Michigan, you can save on attorney fees, time, and stress.
